Don Vincenzo was born in Corleone, Sicily (yes, THAT Corleone) - but despite what people might fear, he developed a fiery Sicilian attitude with food only and his knife is used merely for stabbing a tomato or two.
Even before he started his career as a chef, Don Vincenzo was already a well known figure in his hometown Corleone, where his grandfather sold fresh vegetables and local produce in the town square, (make no mistake, this is the most important job, next to the Mayor, for the people of food-loving, rural Sicily).
As a teenager, Don Vincenzo travelled to the USA where he started his career in hospitality by learning the hard way, starting at the bottom bussing tables and cleaning restaurant floors until he received his first break as a chef in an Italian restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.Between 1995 and 1997, Don Vincenzo opened two restaurants in Louisiana dedicated to his passion of Sicilian cooking. As executive chef, he developed new and modern twists on the millennia old, traditional Sicilian recipes
Despite having graduated in college with a business degree, Don Vincenzo turned his back on the corporate world when in 1999 he was seduced by the call of Sicily. Like an old flame beckoning him home, Don Vincenzo opened the grand baroque, www.ristorantecincin.com which was to become one of Palermo's finest and well known restaurants.
Specialising in a highly stylised, "food of the nobles", Cin Cin has won numerous awards for its fashionable yet aristocratic Sicilian Baroque cuisine. It was here that Vincenzo was bestowed with the title, "Don Vincenzo as a mark of gratitude and honour for returning the grand tradition of aristocratic cuisine to the people of Sicily.
Cin Cin has been given two out of three stars by the Frommer's guide and was voted by the respected Italian broadsheet, "La Repubblica", as in the Top 5 Best Restaurants of Palermo; a city known for having more restaurants per person than most Italian cities. With almost twenty years of experience in the food, restaurant & catering business, in both Italy and the USA, Don Vincenzo has acquired the know-how and charisma that is necessary to guide you through the exciting, exotic and addictive world of Sicilian cuisine. In 2007, Don Vincenzo launched a new concept in dining entitled, "Dangerous Eating". Half dinner and half theatre, "Dangerous Eating is an interactive and unforgettable dining experience that has introduced Don Vincenzo to a larger audience via tours of Switzerland and the UK.
"Whenever you have one of my dishes, you better watch out : it is Addictive...Dangerously Addictive."
